‘Purple Light Night’ educates students about relationship violence

CARE to Stop Violence’s “Purple Light Night” is a series of tabling events that aim to teach students about the signs of relationship violence and promote the resources available on campus. October is Relationship Violence Awareness Month. The series of tabling events will pick back up Wednesday, Oct. 23 and conclude on Monday, Oct. 28. MaryPIRG holds panel about domestic violence, unhealthy relationships

By Charlotte Dulany  University of Maryland’s MaryPIRG held a domestic violence awareness teach-in Feb. 28, which included a presentation, panel discussion and spoken word performances. Wednesday’s event featured a screening of “Escalation,” a short film about Yeardley Love, a young woman who was killed by her ex-boyfriend.
