A fire that lit up the South Campus Diner late Monday night resulted in no injuries.
Late Monday night police officers came rushing into the South Campus Diner, told everyone to leave and pulled the fire alarm. The diner was quickly evacuated as police cars, fire trucks and ambulances rushed to the scene.
Rumors started circulating on campus as to the cause of the fire as smoke rose from the roof of the building. Soon hoses were connected to fire hydrants as more fire trucks arrived on the scene and ladders were brought out the fire fighters climbed up to the roof.
The incident was quickly contained, and though no official report has been released yet, the Prince George’s County Fire Department sent a tweet that the fire involved materials on the roof of the building.
